Xerces Society X Kids Workbook

(1 review)

The Xerces Society is a science-based conservation organization focused on invertebrates. This booklet is a great introduction to things without bones, ecosystems, pollinators, and more. It has 9 different activities, mostly focusing on observation of nature, and also an experiment. The target age group is 8-11, although it could be a fun read-along and activity book for lower elementary students too.

This is not designed explicitly for school settings, so is not NGSS aligned. However, many of the activities could be adapted to school settings.

This X-Kids booklet is available for download in color and black and white versions, as well as both English and Spanish.

This is a fantastic free resource that parents will have lots of fun working through with their kids. We really like the focus on having kids observe and journal what they see.
The Xerces Society is an outstanding non-profit, and has a massive online library of science-based resources for insect conservation.
