Description

This curriculum covers the differences between insects and spiders and presents students with opportunities to observe the vast biodiversity of these animals. There are 12 “experiences”, each including activities, vocabulary, books, and other media related to the concept. Younger students learn about the multitudes of spider and insect species, and how they differ from one another.

    Unfortunately, this very nicely illustrated booklet is a bit dated. Most of the links in the text are broken, and the video that is referenced several times in this resource (“Bugs don’t Bug Us”) is from 1991, and isn’t up to the HD quality we now expect in video resources.
    The “integrated experiences” at the end of each of the 12 lessons have many creative ideas to engage students with the content they are learning.
    While it does not contain any state or NGSS standards, there is a detailed HeadStart Domain Map.
